Somewhere between "Rashomon" and the cinema of Béla Tarr, against the background of a modern working desert in present-day Iran. One of the most impressive debuts of recent years, with amazing black and white photography, a doomed love affair and a shocking, haunting finale.
Synopsis
In a remote traditional building materials factory, the foreman Lotfollah has been for years the successful intermediary between its owner and the workers, a docile instrument ready to quell any reaction. When he discovers that the owner of the factory plans to close it and put the workers on the street, he will be forced for the first time to take a different position to protect the woman he is in love with.
