Synopsis

Paris, 1914. Two friends, Jules, a shy Austrian writer and French intellectual Jim meet Catherine, a passionate and beautiful woman, the textbook definition of a "free spirit". In the midst of World War I, a love triangle blossoms between them, simultaneously wonderful and tragic. The triangle will break up and Jules and Catherine will marry and have a daughter. For a while, they will all remain friends; but balance seems unattainable.
