δημιουργικο, εμπνευσμενο, αληθινο!

Alain Ughetto went back to his own family for this bittersweet story of emigration, mixing comedy with drama and documentary with stop-motion animation in a combination that won a European Film Award. The result looks and feels like a family album of colour photographs.
In the early twentieth century, the land around Ughettera in Piedmont yields less with every harvest. Luigi Ughetto crosses the Alps to build roads in France, and there he meets Cesira. The two of them make a home in a country whose signs say plainly that people like them are not welcome.
