Before Paul Greengrass' film for Netflix, the all-Norwegian version about a horrific event and recent trauma in the country is more emotional but correspondingly anguished, starring an 18-year-old girl who embodies humanism in the face of blind violence.

Synopsis

Norwegian director Erik Poppe directs Anders Behring Breivik's bloody 2011 terrorist attack on the Norwegian island of Utøya in a shocking film that recounts the unimaginably terrifying experience of that tragic day. In an agonizing 72-minute single take, the viewer experiences minute by minute the panic, the desperation of the victims and the nightmarish atmosphere of the merciless attack.
