The Lanthimos version of romance is like no other: unconventional, surreal, dark. In a world where people cannot escape the rules that define their existence, love is a revolutionary act. The already established Greek director takes off with this one, showcasing his unique talent.
Synopsis
In the near future and according to the rules of the City, those who are divorced, widowed and single will be arrested and transported to The Hotel. There, they have to find a partner within 45 days. If they fail, they are transformed into an animal of their choice and released into the Woods. A desperate man escapes The Hotel and finds himself in the Woods where the Loners live.
