Based on real events, this film admirably walks the line between its political perspective and the tropes of the mystery genre. Solid and well-written characters, excellent performances and a must-see movie for fans of whodunits.
Synopsis
A few weeks before the Egyptian Revolution, an officer in the corrupt Cairo police force is investigating the death of a young singer. What initially seems like a crime of passion has much deeper implications that reach all the way up to the country's power elite. The high-ranking police officer will break the rules in the name of justice, clashing with the status quo and his own belief system.
